Collaborative robotics is defined, and several contemporary industrial applications are cited. Limitations of collaborative robots is discussed. A new approach to providing multi-function end effectors is presented, followed by an example use case. The presentation discusses several possible process improvement strategies and addresses upsides and downsides to each. A moveable drilling and fastening robot integration is presented, with labor and process time savings quantified. The possibility of a one-up assembly process is presented and analyzed. The presentation concludes by discussing risks to this proposal, and estimating cost savings at projected throughputs.
