Derek Black holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a co-founder of ARM Automation, Inc. in Austin, Texas where he serves as vice president of business development. Mr. Black’s 24 years of industrial experience includes the design and development of automated solutions for a variety of industries including medical devices, nuclear materials handling, semiconductor and aerospace applications. Mr. Black is a co-inventor on several patents issued and pending related to novel robotic applications and automated processes. Along with the rest of the ARM Automation team, Mr. Black is currently identifying opportunities for automated production and developing new solutions for mixed materials joining and finishing for composites and aerospace applications.
