Frank Speck moved from Germany in 2011. He studied mechanical engineering, IT, and economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. After seven years in sales and business development for PLM and CAD software, Frank shifted his focus in 2015 to Internet of Things (IoT) software for the manufacturing market. Additive Manufacturing (AM), so-called 3D printing, is his passion and combining IoT with AM leads Frank towards smart manufacturing. Frank is VP of international business development and partner development at Silicon Valley-based Authentise, Inc. Authentise delivers IoT-powered process automation software for AM to help manufacturers adopt the technology at true production scale. Its clients, which range across athletics, industrial and aviation manufacturers, deploy Authentise’s 3Diax platform and Manufacturing Execution System to automatically track orders, embed serial numbers, quote and remove other time-intensive tasks.
Frank has been chairman of ‘Industry 4.0’ at the German American Business Association GABA since February 2015. Under the umbrella of Industry 4.0, Frank organizes events related to additive manufacturing, IoT, robotics, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
Frank is married, is a father, and lives in Long Beach, CA. When he is not glued to a computer screen, he enjoys outdoor activities, driving classic cars, brewing beer, and cooking.
