Jose is currently a Senior Manager within the Strategy Department at Airbus Group Headquarters in Toulouse, France. He has been working in the aerospace and defense industry since 1986 after earning his Aeronautical Engineering Degree from Madrid Polytechnic University. Jose began his career in Madrid with Spanish company CASA, where he was responsible for major manufacturing and subcontracting programs for products from McDonnell Douglas and Boeing (DC10, MD11, B757, B737, and B777).
Jose joined Airbus in 1997 and took on numerous roles and responsibilities in procurement, engineering, and programs, during the development of the A380 and with A330 MRTT products.
In July 2009 he joined EADS in Paris (now Airbus Group Headquarters), the parent company of Airbus as part of the Industrial Strategy team where he was mainly focused on developing the Group Industrial Strategy.
Jose has extensive experience leading transnational teams in complex technical projects and his areas of expertise include manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, programs management, and industrial strategy.
He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the “Instituto de Empresa” (IE) Business School of Madrid.
His native language is Spanish but he also speaks English, French and Portuguese.
Jose is married with two sons. Main hobbies include sports (cycling, swimming, and tennis), reading and travelling.
