Kevin Arnold graduated from the College of Welding Engineering at The Ohio State University in 1986. He started his career at General Electric’s Aircraft Engine facility in Cincinnati, Ohio as a manufacturing engineer. He later worked as a process development engineer for brazing and welding before finishing his time at GE in product support engineering working with airlines to extend the lives of their fleet. While at GE he earned an MBA from Xavier University and earned his Ohio Professional Engineers license.
To expand his career experiences he moved into sales as a regional sales manager for Rofin-Sinar, Inc., a manufacturer of high-powered industrial lasers. For 13 years, he grew the Midwest territory into a viable market looking to take advantage of laser welding and cutting technologies. Kevin expanded the laser applications into new areas such as coating removal and deep engraving.
In September 2009, Kevin joined EWI as business development manager for the newly formed EWI Energy Center. In this role, Kevin seeks out companies working in the advanced energy sector with needs EWI can compliment with their materials and joining expertise. Kevin served on the Society of Automotive Engineers board for the Battery Materials and Testing Committee.
In 2012, Kevin joined IPG Photonics as a regional sales manager for the Midwest. In this role, he has expanded the IPG footprint in the aerospace, automotive, and consumer products industries with innovative welding and cutting applications using the leading edge IPG fiber laser technology. Most recently, Kevin has been working with the U.S. government in the area of coating removal for aircraft to expand the portfolio of IPG’s application expertise.
