For almost 90 years, SME has stood for and supported manufacturing. For the past decade, we have looked forward to connecting annually with the aerospace and defense community at AeroDef, and sharing the innovative thinking and technologies that move these great industries forward. But given the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone AeroDef 2020 scheduled for next week in Fort Worth.
This was not an easy decision; the aerospace and defense industries are vital to the U.S. economy, and both increasing demand for the industries’ products and the rapid pace of technological change make it incredibly important to convene the industry as we do at AeroDef. We’re proud of our commitment to aerospace and defense and our ten-year history producing this event, and postponing is not in our nature.
But the health of SME’s customers, employees and partners is our primary concern. Given the CDC’s recommendations on social distancing and ongoing concerns about public gatherings, we have decided that the best way to honor our responsibility to this industry is to postpone the 2020 edition and make the 2021 version that much more energizing and informative. We look forward to sharing plans for next year’s event soon.
We remain committed to aerospace and defense manufacturing, and its community.
SME is keeping those directly affected by this virus in our thoughts, and sending best wishes for quick and full recoveries.
