New orders for durable goods rose in October on a surge in commercial aircraft business.
Orders increased about $11 billion, or 4.8%, to $239.4 billion, the US Census Bureau said in a report today. The September figure, originally reported as a slight decrease, was revised to $228.4 billion, a 0.4% gain from the month before.
With the revision, durable goods new orders have increased four consecutive months, the bureau said.
