Utah School Partnering on Stackable Credential Pathway for Aerospace and Manufacturing

The St. George (UT) News (4/15) reports Iron County School District, Southwest Technical College, Southern Utah University, and MSC Aerospace will collaborate on “a stackable credential pathway for students to quickly move into the high paying aerospace and manufacturing industry.” Those students who finish the Southwest Aerospace Manufacturing Strategic Workforce Initiative can “go into the workforce upon graduation from high school or” continue their education at Southwest Technical College or SUU. Dr. Richard Cozzens, associate professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology at SUU and the principal investigator for the initiative, “said he sees the initiative as an opportunity to assist high school counselors, teachers and parents in guiding students to the appropriate educational credential.”
